It is often required if the applicant intends to travel abroad to study, for immigration purposes, if the applicant plans to marry, or if the applicant is applying for a new employment, possibly in another nation or even locally, as well as for commercial purposes. It is also a prerequisite when forming a corporation, organization, or law firm, when exchanging companies, for customs clearance staff, for veterinarians, and for independent school licensees.

Education and Immigration Purpose.

1. for Qataris only

You must have a valid copy of your ID card with you if you are visiting Qatar.

If you are not already residing in Qatar,

• You can apply in person, upon your return.
• You can send a representative who has a power of attorney stating that they will obtain the PCC on your behalf. In this scenario, your representative will bring a legitimate copy of your ID card along with the power of attorney.
• With your valid ID card and a letter explaining why you require the PCC, you can visit the Qatar Embassy nearest you.

2. For Expats (who have been living here for over six months)

If you have been in Qatar for more than six months, you must apply in person; however, if you are unable to do so, you may send a representative who has a power of attorney stating that person would apply on your behalf for the PCC. In this situation, your representative will also bring the documents listed in the ‘Required Documents’ section below, in addition to the power of attorney.

• Application form filled out completely
• Copy of your valid residence permit
• Copy of your passport that is still valid
• Original fingerprints document certified/attested by your country’s Embassy
• PCC from your country or embassy attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all concerned authorities of your country.
